Square Dances: Music, Community & Tradition

Square dances bring people together, family, friends, and neighbors, to create a strong, connected community. No experience? No partner? No problem! Every dance is taught on the spot, and everyone is welcome.

When is our next dance

Check our schedule on the main page of our website, if it says Square Dance then you found it! January 24, 2026 in Frenchtown is our next scheduled one.

Keeping the Tradition Alive

We host these dances as often as we can and are looking for a permanent home to make them a monthly tradition.Looks like the Frenchtown American Legion will be our regular venue. It has great wooden floors and cheap drinks!

Who’s Calling the Dance?

Our regular caller was Uncle Pete Taney, however he has moved to the west coast. We are going to miss his energy and wholesome calling. Our next dance will have Sue Dupre calling! We met Sue at a Howell Living History Farm barn dance with Jugtown Mountain Stringband.

All Ages, All Levels

Each dance is taught before the music starts, it doesn't matter if you're a first-timer or a seasoned dancer, you’ll be able to jump right in. These are truly all-ages events, kids, adults, and grandparents are encouraged to join!

Live Music by Burnt Mills Highballers

We provide the tunes, keeping the energy high with old-time music.

Come be a part of this growing tradition, Be there and dance square!
